Record high for Northstar RIBs’ order book
Northstar RIBs, headquartered in İzmir, Turkey, says its production is running at full capacity, thanks to a substantial order book taking the company well into mid-2027. Despite a downturn in recreational markets (it manufactures a range of recreational RIBs between 2.9 and 12 meters), a significant increase in demand for its professional and defence RIBs has contributed to the order backlog.
“The order situation cannot solely be attributed to the current geo-political climate as these projects have been in the preparation phase for quite some time, in typical fashion with defence projects,” says Cengiz Arsay, president of Northstar.
“However we do see a notable surge in RFQs [request for proposal] for SAR and defence products during the recent months. This momentum will enable us to continue investing into the recreational product portfolio as well as helping us maintain our international marketing effort.”
While the surge is not stemming from the recreational RIB market, Northstar says it continuously develops new models for the recreational market and has recently introduced the largest of its Orion series (technical information is available on the company’s website), the Orion 10 at boot Düsseldorf and subsequently at the Bosphorus Boat Show in Istanbul. Alongside Orion 10, the all new Vega 6.4 Fishmaster was also introduced, targeting the increasingly popular fishing RIB market with a patented bow motor mount and a multitude of other fishing features.
In January 2024, Northstar appointed Twisted Marine as its exclusive UK distributor.
