Construction of the GX42, the first model from GX Superyachts, is now in its final outfitting phase ahead of a planned launch at the start of summer. The 42m yacht is being built in Turkey for a private client, with recent images from the factory showing how work is progressing across both the interior and exterior.

Work on the lower deck is now largely complete, with guest accommodation and bathrooms fitted with furniture and joinery. GX says focus has now shifted to the owner’s suite on the main deck and the main saloon, where finishing work continues.

The yacht’s hybrid propulsion system passed a workshop test in July 2025, after the successful hull turning and superstructure joining earlier in the year.

On the sun deck, teak decking has been installed and is awaiting final caulking. Furniture for this area is being prepared, including seating and tables, with a jacuzzi also scheduled for installation. In the wheelhouse, electronic and electrical systems are being fitted.

“Build progress for the GX42 is right on target,” says Maurizio Magri, chief commercial officer at GX Superyachts. “Ahead of a summer launch, we are entering the exciting final phase of detailed interior fit out, which means that we can finally see the finished yacht coming to life.

“The way this mould-breaking project has unfolded is a testament to the dedication and expertise of all those involved. It will be a moment of real pride when we unveil the boat at the Monaco Yacht Show for her worldwide debut”

The interior design, developed by Marco Casali, is now taking shape. Materials include walnut panelling for walls and cabinetry, combined with white leather and lacquer finishes, while upholstery uses Italian fabrics. The design centres on natural tones and materials.

“To see the interior that we designed being brought to tangible life is deeply satisfying,” says Marco Casali. “We always set a high hurdle for superyacht finish and precise detailing, but this first yacht from GX Superyachts is something else again. It’s a real manifesto for quality.”

The yacht is expected to spend its first season in the western Mediterranean and is scheduled to make its public debut at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show from 25 to 28 September.

GX Superyachts is also continuing development of models, including the Voyager 38 and Voyager 45, along with plans for a GX35 and GX50.
