Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo has presented the second unit in its 74Steel series, Virtuosity, which has been developed over more than four years with the owner.

The flagship 74Steel was unveiled in October 2025. At 74m and around 1,900GT, it is the largest yacht the shipyard has built to date.

Virtuosity is built on the same diesel-electric platform as the first hull, with a revised spatial layout shaped through a bespoke design process.

The yacht features a living tree spanning two decks, a submerged aquarium integrated into the hull and a reconfigured beach area called the Ocean Resort.

The interior was developed between Sanlorenzo, the owner and Studio Paolo Ferrari, with exterior design by Zuccon International Project. Fraser Yachts was involved in the commissioning process.

“With this yacht, we chose to rethink onboard architecture from its very foundations,” says Tommaso Vincenzi, CEO of Sanlorenzo.

“74Steel Virtuosity represents a decisive step forward in the way we conceive space on board. From the integration of living nature to the transformation of technical volumes into experiential environments, every choice stems from a clear architectural vision. Innovation here is not about excess, but about coherence and balance.”

At the centre of the main deck is a vertical void, where an Indian laurel tree rises through approximately 16 sqm, connecting two decks. The tree was selected before construction and informed the surrounding structure. Skylights provide natural light for the plant, while Sanlorenzo says environmental controls are in place to support its long-term growth.

On the lower deck, the Ocean Resort extends 18m from the stern platform to the first bulkhead, covering more than 230 sqm. Fold-down side platforms and a walkaround configuration increase usable space. A 28 sqm glass-bottom pool sits aft, used as a leisure area by day and a social space in the evening.

Adjacent is a wellness zone with a submerged aquarium of around 35 sqm, integrated into the hull with a partially glazed section below the waterline. The space also includes a hammam, sauna, massage room and cryotherapy area with an opening terrace.

On the owner’s deck, a reflecting pool extends the suite outward, with a platform with removable seating and a sensory shower between interior and exterior areas.

The sun deck incorporates an enclosed gym within a revised external profile that maintains glazing on several sides. This level also includes a pool and aft seating area.

“With the 74Steel Virtuosity we embraced a true change of scale, but above all a change of perspective,” says Bernardo Zuccon, Zuccon International Project.

“It was not simply about designing the largest yacht ever built by Sanlorenzo, but about interpreting a very precise vision of the owner and translating it into naval architecture. In this sense, Virtuosity is not merely a new model, but a shared process that allowed a personal dream to take shape within a solid and recognisable structure.’’

Interior architecture and custom furnishings were developed by Studio Paolo Ferrari with Sanlorenzo, using light-toned materials and continuous surfaces.

‘’Our collaboration with Sanlorenzo on Virtuosity proposes a fundamentally new vision for life at sea‘’ adds Paolo Ferrari of Studio Paolo Ferrari.

‘’Interior architecture and custom furnishings were developed in parallel with the ship itself, while at its centre, a living tree rises through a vertical opening. Inspired by the tonal atmosphere of the Mediterranean, the material palette reinforces clarity, proportion, and restraint. Driven by an uncompromising commitment to innovation, the 74Steel reflects our belief that a yacht can transcend function and become something more experiential and more human.”

Accommodation is arranged across multiple decks. The main deck includes a saloon organised around the central void, with guest cabins including a VIP and an owner’s suite of approximately 80 sqm. A triple-height lobby connects levels via a staircase and lift, with a bar area and wine storage.

The bridge deck includes a 42 sqm enclosed veranda, dining area and bar, two guest cabins and a captain’s cabin near the wheelhouse. A helipad is positioned forward.

A second owner’s suite is located on the owner’s deck, occupying approximately 140 sqm of interior and exterior space. The sun deck completes the layout with leisure and fitness areas.
